![]() ![]() I had the same dilemma, I was torn between the F7 and ZR900. My 2 cents, with a few extra penny's thrown in. What's not to like about that? The winning at drag races over higher displacement sleds and triples is just the "icing on the cake" for F7 owners. Then he went out on a lake to race a few other buddies who had ZRT800's and beat them on the lake with his Sno-Pro version in a 800 foot drag. Enough trail performance to stun us and also completely overcome our expectations for performance that we had. My friend and I enjoy the F7's on the trail. If your trail riding? Why not get the sled that is faster. The Viper's probably a nice sled if you want last years triple technology and that triple feeling. What's not to like? You can leap moguls, hit the throttle and run over them with the nose up, or drag race every other new sled out there and WIN at races under 1200 feet stock. Basically your getting an open mod sno-pro type machine for a LOT less money than a racer would be paying to get a 711. More power than a 711 open mod sno-pro of previous years. Lighter than most $14,000 open mod sno-pro's a couple of years ago. More stable than a 2001 Sno-Pro in both flight and softer landing characteristics. Easy to get the needed adjustment to get the T-Cat accelleration feeling back.ģ. even if the power valves are out of adjustment and the throttle cable is loose after 1500 miles and it needs an adjustment as mine did recently, it still rocks on the trails and you only notice the degrading of power when drag racing or high speed runs on long straightaways. Trail speeds (usually below 80MPH) it cannot be touched by other sleds on the trails. Easy standup riding whenever you want it.Ģ. It allows you to ride in many different riding styles, but up close to the tank is best. It rides 20 to 30% faster through the trails with the same effort. Why I think the F7 is the better choice (being an owner of an F7 Standard). If you want to do inexpensive mods, like the older style ZR more stable feel for those who sit on the back of the seat. If you've had sleds before and don't mind spending a few extra hours tweaking a sled that you'll love looking at anyway. ![]()
